Pacesetter Youth Philosophy
First objective
Having each player with a ball during training sessions; having each player touch the ball as many times as possible during training time; having the player touch the ball with all surfaces of their feet.
Second Objective
Creating a game/training environment where the focus is on 1v1, 2v2, 2v3, 3v3, 3v4, and 4v4 drills which allows players to be constantly around the ball (touching, dribbling, faking, passing, shooting, defending). This environment encourages them to be involved in the play. We inspire the players from a very early age to feel comfortable with the ball at their feet.
Third objective
To form a less structured, less pressured game for the players. To educate the parents. To let the coaches coach and the players play. To have fun, play, develop and enjoy. Winning does not matter at this age. We will create a fun soccer environment without recording goals and without established teams. The teams will be formed each session and the players will be rotated.
Why 3v3/4v4 instead of 8v8 for this age?
1. 135% more passing
2. 260% more scoring attempts
3. 500% more goals scored
4. 225% more 1v1 encounters
5. 280% more dribbling/possession skills used
