Boys 14 Premier excel at Best of Midwest
Pacesetter Boys U14 Premier Red made the trek to the Best of the Midwest tournament in Indiana the weekend of Sept 19-21 and came out as Finalists against some great competition.
Our first matchup bright and early on Saturday was against a Wisconsin team, Bavarian Jrs. We came out on top with a modest 1-0 victory. Later the same day, we played an Indiana team, MSA Lightening to a 1-1 tie.
Even earlier on Sunday (7:30!) we were paired with Nebraska's highly ranked Italia FC. We played to our true ability and beat them 4-0 to go to the semi-finals.
Pacesetter then fought tough for a 1-0 win against Milwaukee FC Blue to advance to the final game against Hoosiers FC (obviously from Indiana).
We were at a 0-2 deficit at the half, dominated the 2nd half but could only make 1 goal stick for a 1-2 loss.
Arriving back in Sylvania at almost midnight Sunday was rough on a school night, but these boys are as tough as they come! Congratulations!

Girls U11 perform at Mead Cup
The U11 Girls Premier team found great success at the Mead Cup Tournament in Dayton over the Labor Day weekend. They got the weekend off to a fast start on Saturday with a 10-0 win over a Carmel United team from Indiana. On Sunday they went on to defeat the defending Mead Cup Champions, Ohio Premier 1-0, then battle to a 0-0 tie that evening with Miami Valley Premier. That was enough to send them to the semi-finals where they met a Mockingbird Valley team the next morning from Louisville, KY and defeated them 2-0. They moved on to meet a very tough CSA team from Cincinnati in the finals and finally allowed their first goal of the weekend and fell in PK's 2-1 taking 2nd place in the tournament.
The girls played exceptionally well all weekend long for Coach Casey Staples. Great job girls and coach!
